This is an old bug.
The change that broke it was Fix text span indices #109.
edit: Fixed with Fix a couple scrolling bugs #117
Bevy 0.19 will include a text input that is way nicer than this one. When Bevy 0.20 is released, we won't be doing a release to support it and will archive the project at that time.
