Description

Developers need help turning their own application's behavior and risks into meaningful RAMPART tests. This adds RAMPARTner, a portable onboarding and learning skill that introduces itself with "Howdy! I'm your RAMPARTner" and guides users through that process in their coding assistant.

  • Asks focused questions and teaches concepts while guiding source selection (main or the latest release), application-specific integration, agreement on safety claims and evidence, and authorized first-test execution.
  • Explains verdict limitations, actual result locations, and reproducible reruns. Recommends code-grounded probes, attacks, and payloads, and helps distinguish local extensions from framework feature requests. Missing required evidence must not silently become SAFE.
  • Keeps learning tied to the user's application. Suggests complementary probes and attacks for the user's workflow. After the first useful test, offers a choice between practicing with that test and moving directly to another relevant case.
  • Packages the self-contained skill with RAMPART and documents project-local installation for supporting assistants, including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Codex, with links from the README and getting-started navigation.

The skill provides instructions, not a separate agent runtime or enforced state machine. Execution remains subject to the host assistant's tools and permissions. Its focus is onboarding and learning, not ongoing CI or suite management.

CI correction: The trace-compatibility gate now compares against the tested PR merge commit's first parent instead of the event payload's potentially stale base SHA. This prevents upstream trace-contract changes from being incorrectly attributed to the PR. Pushes to main retain content-only validation.

Checklist

  • pre-commit run --all-files passes
  • Tests added or updated for changes
  • Documentation updated

No new automated tests are included in the final diff.

CI passed Lint & Type Check and the existing test suites on Python 3.11, 3.12, 3.13, and 3.14 for commit 255c7c8. The full all-files pre-commit command was not run.

Package a portable onboarding and learning skill that guides application-specific setup, evidence agreements, first tests, results, and relevant follow-up coverage. Add installation documentation, navigation links, and regression coverage for the skill contract and offline examples.

Remove the standalone smoke test and fixed Helpdesk example. Keep guidance tied to the user's workflow and offer a choice between practicing with the current test and moving to another case.

Use the PR merge commit's first parent instead of the event payload's potentially stale base SHA. Preserve content-only trace validation for pushes to main.
