Hey 👋 I'm Rei Nova

I'm a full-stack developer with 7 years experience working exclusively in fintech and crypto. In my last job I acted as tech lead at Shakepay for the cash squad where I led a team that managed core payments infrastructure. Now I'm running Soulbound Labs, an AI-native studio. Our house product is Clawcraft, a multi-tenant AI agent runtime.

What I'm passionate about

  • I work with my close friend @mariana-oka on many projects. We're interested in the intersection of technology and art. Together we wrote and illustrated 'A Velveteen Rabbit', a re-imagining of the classic children's story written by Margery Williams re-imagined for the AI era.
  • I'm deeply engaged with AI Native engineering. My personal philosophy is that AI generated code should be first choice and that the architecture of the project should not outstrip the developer's understanding. It's when devs ignore this rule that the codebase hits technical tailwinds. You can read my Paxel report here.

Hackaton Wins

We've also won a hackathon each year since 2023.

  • 2026, 'Return Of The Agents', San Francisco: This hackathon was different. I shipped Substrate, an execution harness for agent fleets so that I could deploy an entire web-app, Roastybara in under 30 minutes from start to finish. The webapp won the hackathon.
  • 2025, 'AuraSci,' Boston, MA: We shipped Ideosphere a decentralized prediction market for science. We also got featured in a Coin Telegraph article for this one.
  • 2024, 'Radix Hackathon,' London UK: We shipped Geochain, a dApp built on the Radix blockchain that allows shipping companies to gate escrow payments based on the GPS location of shipments.
  • 2023, 'ETH Global,' New York City: We shipped Swirl, a decentralized P2P funding platform for scientific research.
