Linux guests are ARM64 only, so jobs that need an x86_64 binary or a linux/amd64 container could not run on Vectis at all.
Linux environments can opt in with
vectis environment configure <id> --x64 rosettaor the desktop toggle. The Apple helper then shares Apple's read-only Rosetta runtime, and a guest unit mounts it and registers it for x86_64 binaries. The runner stays ARM64 and labels do not change. Missing Rosetta on the Mac or an image prepared before this change fail with coded next steps. AGENTS.md records this share as the single, opt-in exception to the no host directories rule. Stacked on the access policy PR.Validation:
pnpm checkpasses (517 tests) and the Swift helper builds. No VM was booted, so Rosetta inside a guest is unverified.
