Diagnosing a failed job required leaving Vectis for GitHub or the gh CLI, which also meant an AI agent using the MCP server could not read why a job failed.
A new read-only
job.logsquery returns a job's log in UTF-8 chunks with a byte cursor, from the last 4 MiB, through the desktop app (a log panel beside jobs and runner activity),vectis job logs <job-id> --binding <id> [--follow]and the MCP toolvectis_job_logs. Logs are fetched on demand with the existing actions:read token: the blob redirect is validated against GitHub hosts and followed without credentials, pages use bounded byte ranges, and polling backs off while GitHub has no output.Validation:
pnpm checkpasses (438 tests). No live GitHub log was downloaded.
