The desktop app showed a runner's lifecycle only as raw text such as "Runner: preparing_guest.", and the jobs list showed only GitHub's status. You could not tell a VM being prepared from nothing happening, or see that a runner was still cleaning up after the job.
Runner stages now render as status badges (Starting VM, Preparing runner, Registering, Waiting for job, Cleaning up, Released idle runner) in the activity row and next to the linked job in the repository jobs list. A job that GitHub already reports as running keeps only GitHub's status.
Validation:
pnpm checkpasses (388 tests); pure stage logic has unit tests. The app was not run against a real home.
