I think the code as you wrote it is fine, but I don't see the benefit, and it breaks backwards compatibility. If there's a compelling reason to switch style and we can simultaneously retain the existing API then I'd consider it. |

I wanted it to work like my other libraries. Didn't know if you wanted it like this or not...
