chore(apb): run the owner dev quality cycle in osb-pr-prepare - #265
Conversation
osb-pr-prepare 1.4.0 replaces its own review list (self-review, test-audit, security review, OpenCodeReview in delegation mode) with the owner's dev quality cycle from the global skill dev-quality-cycle: OpenCodeReview on the claude-code provider, a read-only Codex review, claude -p /security-review, the security-audit and test-audit skills and the repository gates, with the skill's convergence rule. - cycle_run: a script node that calls the skill runner on the branch range and records the run folder; runner exit 4 means nothing new. - cycle_review: verifies the findings, runs the two audit skills, fixes the real findings, decides new rounds by the convergence rule and reports with the skill's template. The Open Second Brain security dispositions and test rules stay in the prompt. - push_approval: a human_review gate before push_pr. The playbook used to push and open the PR without asking; an approval now covers the push and the CI fix pushes of the same PR. - bot_review sends CodeRabbit fixes through the convergence rule. The osb-reviewer profile gains an explicit empty fallbacks list, written by apb when its bundle was approved. Signed-off-by: Sergey Eroshenkov <itechmeat@gmail.com>
The cycle range in osb-pr-prepare 1.4.0 followed the upstream branch, so a branch pushed before PR preparation skipped the review. cycle_run now reviews the whole branch against the base unless the cycle itself recorded a reviewed head for this branch, and cycle_review and final_fix record that head. final_fix sends its code fixes through the convergence table, a nothing-new pass still emits the completion marker, and the bot review edges quote yes and no as strings for any YAML reader. The cap test seeded fixed dates up to 2026-10-16 and relied on the fresh census landing on the newest seeded day. From 2026-10-17 the census became a fourth day, flattened the fitted trend and the tier fell from warn to ok on every runner. Seed the two days before today and today itself instead. check-release.sh accepted a new CHANGELOG heading when the change kind ships no release, because it compared only package.json. It now also fails when the first CHANGELOG heading moved against the base. Signed-off-by: Sergey Eroshenkov <itechmeat@gmail.com>

The census timestamps its own sample with the current time, so a run crossing UTC midnight after the seeds could still add a fourth day. Freeze the clock at today's UTC noon around the report. Signed-off-by: Sergey Eroshenkov <itechmeat@gmail.com>
Summary
The
osb-pr-prepareplaybook moves to version 1.4.0. It stops keeping its own list of review steps and runs the owner's dev quality cycle, a shared review procedure that every repository uses before a push. The playbook also gains an owner approval step before it pushes. Before this change it pushed and opened the PR without asking. What changed
self_review,test_audit,security_reviewandocr_reviewnodes are replaced by two new nodes:cycle_runis a script node. It runs the cycle's runner on the branch: OpenCodeReview on the Claude subscription, a read-only Codex review andclaude -p /security-review.cycle_reviewis an agent node. It checks every finding against the code and applies the security-audit and test-audit skills. It fixes the real findings, decides by the cycle's convergence rule whether another round is needed, and reports with the cycle's template.cycle_reviewunchanged: how security fixes are handled and worded in public, and the test rules for regression proofs and volatile output.push_approvalgate sits beforepush_pr. Approving it covers the push and the CI-fix pushes of the same PR. Rejecting it stops the run before anything leaves the machine.final_fixand from the CodeRabbit pass go through the cycle's convergence rule, usually one OpenCodeReview pass on the fix commits only, before they are pushed.osb-reviewerprofile gains an explicit emptyfallbackslist. apb wrote it when the profile was approved.Verification
apb validate:osb-pr-prepare: OK. Two warnings were already there in 1.2.0 (V90 onpush_prandci_fix). The new approval gate is the consent step for them.scripts/cycle-run.shwas exercised in a throwaway repository. Tests covered the first pass on a pushed branch, a later pass after a recorded head, a record from another branch, and an already reviewed head.final_fixcommits were fixed. Also in this PR
tests/cli/brain/verbs/storage.test.tsseeded fixed dates up to 2026-10-16 and assumed the fresh census lands on the newest seeded day. From 2026-10-17 that test failed on every runner, main included. The seeds are now the two days before today and today itself.check-release.shnow also refuses a new CHANGELOG heading.Summary by CodeRabbit
