Hey, I'm Hemanth Kumar Reddy

👨‍💻 About

I recently graduated with a B.Tech in CSE from IIIT Hyderabad, interested in building practical, user-centric products, database systems, and full-stack systems.

I was part of a 4-member team behind the institute’s first official mobile campus app, developed with React Native and FastAPI. The work spanned end-to-end development—feature design, implementation, testing, deployment workflows, and ongoing maintenance.
Today, the app supports 2000+ users across the IIIT Hyderabad community and is available on both platforms:

At Coral Innovations, I contributed to the early development of their smart-home consumer app, focusing on clean UI/UX flows and helping shape a smooth, beta-ready build.

I was part of the E-Cell IIIT Hyderabad tech team, contributing to platform maintenance, building event websites for Megathon and Fail, and improving the main site through a structured Jekyll-based setup.

I’m currently working on:

  • RookDB – Storage Engine (under Prof. Kamal Karlapalem)
    RookDB is an open-source database storage engine written in Rust and designed to explore the internal architecture of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).

    The project focuses on building a disk-oriented DBMS that stores and manages data efficiently on persistent storage while supporting query processing. GitHub Link: https://github.com/RookDB
