JUnit 6.1.3 requires JVM 17 or newer, but the examples include projects targeting Java 11 (e.g. Gradle's variant-aware dependency resolution correctly rejects JUnit 6 artifacts for these projects:
Since these example projects exist to validate plugin compatibility with older JVMs, upgrading to JUnit 6 would require bumping all examples to Java 17+ — which defeats the purpose. Recommend staying on JUnit 5.x. |
