What it does

SearXNG is a private metasearch engine. This script wraps the TrueNAS community app searxng.

How it installs

There are no questions. The limiter stays off, so no Redis container runs.

• Config is on ApplicationsPerformance at searxng/config and is snapshotted before updates. On first start the image writes settings.yml with its own random secret key. The script sets no owner, because the container starts as root and manages that folder itself.
• The port is 30053, the TrueNAS default.
• Limits are 2 CPUs and $MEMORY(5%, 1024).

Testing

• bun _lib/validate.ts passes with 0 errors and 0 warnings.
• I installed it on my HexOS server (TrueNAS 25.10, HexOS 2026.10.16). It deployed, /healthz returned 200, and a test search returned results.
