This branch turns the project into a more paper-aligned Bitcask-style engine: tombstone deletes, CRC-checked reads, better merge/recovery, richer API (Sync/Close/ListKeys/Fold), read-only + advisory lock options, heavy test coverage, and a rewritten README—with hint/lock/test files still only on disk unless you commit them.
