IS-11744 — adds a Branches and releases section to the README.
devwas merged intomainand deleted on 2026-09-30 (#341, #342), somainis now the development trunk rather than a mirror of the latest release. Nothing in the repository says so yet: anyone cloningmaintoday silently gets development work. This section tells consumers to check out the version branch for their Identity Server version instead.main.ui-kit-<version>tags are mentioned as the way to get the exact state that shipped, and as the only option for releases that have no version branch (there is noversion/11.0).The command uses a
version/<major>.<minor>placeholder with an example, so it does not go stale as new versions ship. This replaces the README part of #301, which is now redundant — its merge already landed via #341/#342.
The matching product-docs change, pointing the clone instruction in the Identity Server documentation at the version branch, is a separate Identity Server PR under IS-11678.
