This PR touches both the RST list of maintainers and the MD one. The MD one is currently the main one and other PRs exist to deduplicate the two.
Could you update this PR so that it stays focused on the rename of the .md?
Further, There are still some behind the scenes checks that we need to do as the maintainers to confirm how we want to best fit within the new governance policy. These decisions need to be made before we update this .md file.

Thanks for the clarification. I’ll limit this PR to just renaming the file and updating references (including README), and revert the RST and .md content changes. I’ll update the branch soon. |
Rename only; no content changes. Updates README to reference the new filename. Addresses chaoss#3619. Per maintainer feedback: this PR is scoped to the file rename only. RST and .md content updates are left to other PRs and governance. Signed-off-by: antcybersec <[email protected]>

Talked to the maintainers about this. I think the ideal solution here is to move the section listing current maintainers into MAINTAINERS.md and otherwise leave CONTRIBUTORS.md as-is as a method of providing credit to those who contribute to Augur |
