| Repositories should be private by default. Make a repository public only when there is a clear need for open source, open collaboration, or public documentation, and only after confirming that it contains no sensitive or internal process details/content. |

I have assumed that our practice is to make our code public by default (to maximize sharing), but to have no hesitation to create a private repository when we need to manage internal resources.
