Julio Gutierrez

Staff Software Engineer with 15+ years of experience, mostly with Java, but I'd like to move into 🦀 Rust.

How I Work

🐧 Linux only: running NixOS (config)
❄️ Every project gets its own reproducible dev shell with devenv, no more containers for dev
🤖 Claude for heavy lifting at work, lightweight models with Agy for personal projects
⌨️ Neovim as my editor and jj for version control
❤️ Rust, Nix, Java 21+, Spring, Bash, Linux
🌱 I know a little and want to learn more about: Rust, WASM
💢 I know but don't want to use: C#, Python, Nodejs, Javascript, Scala, Kotlin
