Dataset description

Survival rates of French business establishments at the municipality (commune) and detailed activity-code (NAF sub-class) level — a granularity the French national statistics institute (INSEE) does not publish (its enterprise survival statistics stop at the regional level).

Derived from seven open territorial extracts of the SIRENE register (French national business register), under Etalab Open License 2.0:

• Survival cohorts 2014-2021 for the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolis, Ile-de-France region, Nantes Metropole and Pays de la Loire region (144 communes, identical-cohort comparisons, 3- and 5-year horizons, quantified upper-bound caveats).
• Active-stock structure (age brackets, non-employer share, top activities) for the Lyon metropolis, Mulhouse agglomeration and Rennes Metropole.
