• Make the Windows/Linux preview guide follow download → install → five-question sample → stop/reopen → own question bank.
• Separate full-folder backup, upgrade/recovery and uninstall instructions, preserving legacy-preview and immutable-state safety limits.
• Put packaged-install troubleshooting first; align support, security and bug-report guidance with solo previews.
• Simplify first-run wording and add reopening help. Clarify that Validate checks format and Review shows planned file changes, not a question-and-answer editor.
• Record remaining consumer, accessibility and private-reporting checks.

References #119 and #121; neither issue is closed by this patch. No public release/download is claimed.

Verification

• Node 22.22.2 / pnpm 10.33.0 frozen offline dependency install passed.
• Lint, typecheck, production build, formatting, pre-commit checks and 73 focused UI tests passed locally.
• Final unblocked unit run: 1,481 tests across 86 files passed. The 17-test migration file was explicitly excluded after six tests hit this environment's tsx Unix-socket EPERM. This is not a full local green suite.
• Local E2E could not start because the sandbox runner failed its mount setup. These local limitations remain recorded below; native CI has now passed.
• Documentation/source review checked command names, artifact names, paths and relative links; Linux installer help and shell syntax checks passed.

Exact-head CI evidence

Head 029fe24428825535b13f8663d14cb8b1233f47fb passed on 2026-10-02:

• Full CI: format, lint, typecheck, full unit suite, production build and E2E.
• Solo desktop preview: Windows x64 and Linux x64 archive policy, native installation/browser acceptance and upgrade/crash checks, with preview artifact upload. Candidate assembly was correctly skipped for this PR run.

Still required

Real ordinary-user Windows/Linux browser/shortcut and download-warning checks; sample/results/resume after service restart; keyboard/screen-reader/200% zoom checks; verification of the private vulnerability-report form. Existing AI radio keyboard behavior remains deferred. CI does not establish consumer OS support or physical-power-loss durability.
