Changes touch interactive logon policy restoration and ProfileList registry key renaming during reversion—both can lock users out or mis-route profiles if wrong—but behavior is targeted, documented, and covered by new acceptance tests.
Overview
JumpCloud ADMU 2.16.3 bundles reliability fixes for migration early exit, profile reversion, and first-login UWP work.
Migration (
Start-Migration) replacesbreakwithreturnon failed gates outside the migration loop (e.g. agent install,Confirm-API), so the function’send{}block always runs and restores interactive logon whenBlockAccountLoginwas applied—addressing lockouts after validation failures (CUT-5227). Comments document the requiredreturnvsbreakbehavior; acceptance tests cover the semantics and a regression where API validation fails after blocking login.Reversion (
Start-Reversion) reworks registry resolution when both the base SID key and a.bakkey exist: if.bakholds the valid.ADMUprofile while the base key points at\TEMP, the base key is renamed to.oldand reversion proceeds from.bak, with stricter target-path validation. Tests simulate the TEMP +.bakscenario.Post-migration UWP (
uwp_jcadmu.ps1) counts appx registrations only on success (ErrorAction Stop), and resets several shell/start-menu/cloud-experience appx packages when present instead of only resetting cloud experience.Version strings and changelog are updated to 2.16.3; manifest formatting in
