HaeconGem is the first genome-scale metabolic model of the barber's pole worm, Haemoncus contortus. This model was cosntructed following a support-based consensus orthologues selection (suppOrth) for reaction addtions, usinge the model HumanGEM and WormGEM as templates. This model was conextualized using RNAseq datasets that covers all the developmental stages of this organism.
"A genome-scale metabolic model of Haemonchus contortus predicts marked metabolic differences across development and between sexes".
Parasitic nematodes; Haemonchus contortus; genome-scale metabolic modelling; transcriptome integration; context-specific metabolic models; developmental metabolism; flux sampling; sex-specific metabolism.
