Try v1.4.2

[EnforcerRidley]

I can verify the issue is still with v1.4.3.

I've had the issue since July 23rd, 2026 (and it never worked with icons).
It works for Steam games, just not non-steam games (I haven't tested it with mods).
I'm using the Windows 10 Education, Brave Browser, and v1.4.3 of SGDBoop. Steam is not installed on the C: Drive, so I set the environmental variable of BOOP_STEAMPATH to "G:\games\valve\steam".

[mpaterakis]

1. You don't need to set BOOP_STEAMPATH for windows, it can automatically find the correct path by reading the registry. So try removing that and see if anything changes.
2. Can you check if your reported SteamID is correct for the currently logged in user?
3. If everything looks correct in the test popup, please go ahead and post your debug log here.

I set BOOP_STEAMPATH for windows because it didn't find my Steam path automatically (or at least for the non-steam games).

It is. I double checked to make sure.

I'm the only one who uses this pc.

Thank you for the log. It seems to be crashing when looking for mods. Will take a look when I have some time, but it most probably is caused by your irregular Steam path.

If you can, please delete the log file and send me a new one, without using BOOP_STEAMPATH. Boop should be finding the path on its own.

[EnforcerRidley]

Okay, with BOOP_STEAMPATH deleted.

Thank you. Boop finds your Steam path correctly, but seems to crash when checking for mods.

So do you get any window popup or messagebox in v1.4.3? Based on this log it should just be crashing silently on its own and not showing any errors.

I added some deeper debug logging for mods, to get some more information about your issue. Grab the windows build from this link, and run it as admin to register it.

Then same as before, delete your logfile, use boop normally and post your log.

Finally, something optional: If possible, try to get all the liblist.gam files from your goldsrc directory and all the gameinfo.txt files from the sourcemods directory, and upload them as well (either here or in a file hoster of your choice). Each mod has one of those files to store some basic metadata. If you decide to do this, skip all other mod files and only include those 2 specific files.

It's crashing silently, not showing any errors.

I should mention that this Boop was working with my Steam directory all through 2025 and for years before, and in 2026 up to July.

Downloaded, installed, and registered as admin.
To verify it's all installed correctly:

Here you go:

liblist.gam.zip
I had to zip the liblist.gam files because GitHub doesn't like .gam attached in the comments.

I finally managed to get some free time and look into this. Happy to say that it has been FIXED via bcdfa28 and a35afcf!

Try the build from this action and let me know if the issue is indeed fixed on your end.

Also massive thanks for all the mod files, couldn't have figured it out without all of them. One of them drove me crazy because instead of game it had a key of "game", but I added support for it regardless.
