Hi there 👋

I am Gabriel Nakamura 👋, a Brazilian ecologist working on the development of quantitative methods at the interface of macroevolution, macroecology, and biogeography. My most recent projects involve:

  • Developing approaches to capture the imprints of interspecific competition shaping local assemblages through deep time using the fossil record

  • Understanding the role of diversification in shaping present-day assemblages

  • Understanding the evolutionary origins of species’ endemic distributions

  • Developing interactive apps to support teaching in Ecology and Evolution
