Proposal: OpenJS Dev Education + AI Webinar Series

As discussed in the recent collab space meeting, we’re proposing a new webinar series showing how JavaScript devs can use AI tools, frameworks, and APIs. Think practical demos, real use cases, and community stories. Friendly for newcomers, interesting for experienced devs.

Some Goals:

• Teach devs to use JS + AI effectively
• Highlight community projects
• Give junior/mid-level devs practical takeaways

Format Recommendations:

• Frequency: Monthly (to start, we can reassess as needed)
• Length: 20 min
• Platform Recommendation: Streamyard
• Hosts: Rotating moderators from OpenJS projects or community contributors
• Segments: Demo, guest talk, community spotlight

Content Ideas:

• Node.js for AI
• GenAI / Open Source AI demystified
• Critical thinking for junior devs
• AI-powered web & device apps
• Governance, security, ethics (W3C, agent/client privilege, AI + law)
• Community stories / guest highlights

Please join our collab space meeting on Monday, December 1 to discuss:

• Feedback on themes and format
• Guest or speaker suggestions
• Volunteers for hosting, production, or promotion

• we're looking for naming ideas for our podcast
• we're working on a prospectus for potential podcast sponsors
• we're continuing to look for guests, to start outreach in January
