This still bites us regularly, so I would like to ask how you see it being solved.

One thing worth narrowing down: when a window is shared, Chromium already draws a yellow border around it, and that is enough. The problem is sharing a whole screen — there is no border, and if the Talk window is minimized there is nothing on screen at all to say that sharing is still going on. People forget, and keep sharing long after the call moved on.

The obvious answer, a frame around the shared screen, does not look right to me either: everyone watching would see that frame too, permanently, around the whole picture. And making it visible only to me sounds like it would work on some systems and not others.

What I would find most useful is a small window that appears when Talk is minimized — which conversation the call is in, that a screen is being shared, and buttons to end the call or bring the app back. It would also cover the case we hit more often than forgotten sharing: forgetting you are in a call at all, and then hunting for the window to leave it.
