Use cases
I'm creating a recipe system and I need an icon that helps me tell vegetarian and vegan recipes apart. Leaf icons aren't useful here, because I want to show, for example, that a recipe doesn't include meat or other animals, but may include dairy or eggs.
I'm omnivorous, so a system where recipes are vegetarian or vegan by default and only non-vegetarian dishes are marked with a beef icon would be less intuitive to me.
Design ideas
The icon has been already designed. It's included in the issue #924 but it has been closed with no explanation of why beef-off was a declined option.
