[Bug]: Location not working on Linux

Have you tested that this is not an upstream issue or an issue with your configuration?

• I have tried reproducing this issue in Chrome and it could not be reproduced there
• I have tried reproducing this issue in ungoogled-chromium and it could not be reproduced there
• I have tried reproducing this issue in Helium with a new and empty profile using --user-data-dir command line argument and it could not be reproduced there

Description

The geo location request is blocked by the client

How to Reproduce?

1. Go to https://www.openstreetmap.org/
2. Click on the "Show my Loation" arrow (just below the zoom in/out +/- icons right aligned

Actual behavior

1. An error appears: "Geolocation error: Network error. Check DevTools console for more information.."
2. in Dev tools it shows: /#map=4/27.29/-100.24:1 Network location provider at 'https://www.9oo91eapis.qjz9zk/' : ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT.

Expected behavior

1. The location is found and the map zoom to general location

I tried this on other browsers on linux, LibreWolf, Edge, etc

This is because we disable the requests Chromium makes to Google for geolocation, and there is currently no platform location provider on Linux (there already is one on macOS and Windows). There is an issue in upstream to track implementing a Geoclue provider: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/40699142, and it looks like someone already started working on it a few months ago

this is exactly what i was looking for, but didn't find it. we could use this once it becomes self-hostable:

data dumps currently aren’t available as I’m still working on obfuscating the data to protect the privacy of contributors and AP owners.

The development of BeaconDB is kinda slow down, but the data submission is still growing quickly

If people getting bad results they can decided to use an Android phone with NeoStumbler app to collect data nearby.

People still has no consensus for the method to provide the data.
