Description
Operating system
Linux, GNOME 49, Wayland
Version
0.6.7.1
Have you tested that this is not an upstream issue or an issue with your configuration?
- In Chrome it could not be reproduced there
- In ungoogled-chromium it could not be reproduced there
- In Helium with
--user-data-dir=$(mktemp -d)I have the same pixelation issue.
Description
Favicons in the tab bar, bookmark icons, and certain UI elements appear pixelated.
Edit:
This bug only occurs on monitors WITH fractional scaling enabled!
gsettings set org.gnome.mutter experimental-features "['scale-monitor-framebuffer']"
How to Reproduce?
- Open Helium on a monitor with fractional scaling (125%, 133%, 150%, ...)
- Observe the icons in the tab bar or bookmarks bar. Notice the pixelation.
- Hover the mouse cursor over a pixelated icon.
- Observe that the icon becomes sharp/unpixelated. Favicons in the tab stay pixelated, even when mouseover.
Expected behavior
Icons should render sharply at all times without requiring a mouse hover.
Additional context
- This issue also occurred in the prior Helium version (0.6.4.1)
- The issue persists with the default 2-row top-bar layout and the cat-ui.
