K5000s testing linux.

Successfully built and ran edisyn.

Build complained about deprecation and emitted several warnings:

Can you be more specific about the realtime changes not working? Which ones? In which situation? Note that real-time changes often are not reflected on-screen until you scroll away from the relevant screen and back again.

Also, are you saying that the error occurs when you try to save an empty bank? Or in some other situation?

Ugh, the bank save issue is because of the K5000's uniquely problematic bank lengths which can't be emitted. I'll have to think about how to deal with that.

I tried disabling sources in the editor (just unselecting them.) changing volume

nothing changed until I click MIDI -> write to patch

also the dials don't register values :( (all 0)

What do you mean by "also the dials don't register values :( (all 0)"? I didn't understand that.

They don't have any values...

and they don't change value when moved on the synth (but maybe that's expected? )

Ah, yes that would be expected. The K5000 doesn't emit those. The Dials section in Edisyn is just a convenience mechanism for people with a K5000R or K5000W without the dials.

What I mean is that when you turn one of the dials, it'll emit the appropriate Control signal. It's a convenience mechanism for people who don't have the remote. But those dials aren't part of a patch: if you load a patch, the dials will stay as they are.

So let's go back to the other knobs, which you say aren't doing anything on the K5000. When you change a knob -- say, Portamento Speed -- does kmidimon report that Edisyn is outputting anything? It should be a 14-byte sysex message (that's what's happening on my Mac). If not, do you have Sends Realtime Changes unchecked by accident?

Finally, I can't replicate the bank save error you've described earlier. I think what you're saying is that if you're in the Librarian, and you try to save a bank, you'll get that error printed out and the file will be empty. This isn't happening on my machine, but it's possible I fixed it after you reported it and don't remember at this point. Get with me (my email address is on the front of the manual) and I can send you a private beta to test.
