[Bug]: Just a green picture

Bug Description

I only get a green picture. No matter which Encoder or settings i choose. I'm using Wayland with a NVidia card. If that matters....

I have the same problem with my Logitech Brio 4K on Fedora Silverblue 43 with a standard RX 7600 as the only running GPU. Previously I could choose between the webcam and the cam for face recognition, but now I can't select the cam and I only get a green screen on the previsualization.

A new big release (v0.3.0) just released a few hours ago on Flathub. Could you update the Camera app and try again?

If the same error still persists, please open the app settings, then scroll down and click on the insights button and then please create screenshots from the data that is being displayed in the insights page.

Starting from v0.3.1 this data will also be included in the bug report file, but it will take a few days until version v0.3.1 is live on Flathub, so screenshots would help me to debug in the meantime.

When I tried doing so, I couldn't even keep the app running. It crashed after a couple of seconds:

This looks like a crash in libcamera. I have pushed a new version v.0.3.2 which should come live on Flathub soon. This should include more details in the crash dump to hopefully find the root cause.

Do you run any other software that might access the webcam at the same time? Did the camera work for you on a previous version of this Camera app?

I trend to record with OBS Studio first for video and after I try to make a photo for the thumbnail. After closing OBS Studio, the webcam works with the current Camera app from GNOME (Flathub), Kamoso (Flathub) and Cheese (Flatpak from Fedora's repository), but none of those apps give me the same control than this app for COSMIC and only Cheese give me the possibility to make a photo at 1440p. The 1440p resolution is important for me because I apply a zoom through OBS Studio and that zoom is kept for the rest of apps, so it's more comfortable for me. And yes, the resolution for videos is 1440p.

With the latest updates I simply can't start the app with the webcam connected. This is the bug I get now:

@cold-distance this is very helpful! I seems like an issue with the YUV planes memory layout that libcamera sends on your uvc driver version which mismatches the layout the app chose for the GPU memory for those YUV planes. I am already working on a fix.

What confuses me, is why the app tries to chose the YUV stream over the MJPEG stream for this device, which it does not on my machine with the same Logitech BRIO 4K webcam. Maybe there is some incompatibility with your app settings / cache. Can you zip up the folder ~/.config/cosmic/io.github.cosmic_utils.camera and share it? Then I could try to debug that potential bug as well.

Also, did this webcam ever worked on your system with this Camera app here? If so, do you know what the latest working version was?

I don't use COSMIC desktop, but GNOME. This if the config folder made by the Flatpak app took from /var/home/edu/.var/app:
