Coming back to this one a year late - sorry about that. Yes: open the choice's settings (the gear icon on its row), enable Open, and set File Opening Location to Reuse current tab. The new note then opens in the pane you're already in instead of spawning a new tab. Docs: https://quickadd.obsidian.guide/docs/Choices/TemplateChoice (under Optional -> Open). |

Is it possible to open the new note in the current tab?
This is my hotkey to create a new file:

But it opens in a new tab, but I prefer it in the same pane.
Is this possible?
