GPT 5.3 Codex disappeared from model selection list (Github Copilot)

Yesterday, GPT 5.3 Codex was available for selection but it returns an error "requested model is not available". After updating to 1.1.63 and reauthenticating to Github Copilot, GPT 5.3 Codex is no longer available. GPT 5.3 Codex is working in my VS Code on my Github Copilot Pro account.

Is there any configuration I need to set to have a working GPT 5.3 Codex?

It was removed because it's not generally available yet.

Thank you for the clarification. I thought it will be available the moment it appears in VS Code and Zed via my Copilot account. But looks like it works differently in Opencode. I just started using Opencode and loving the experience.

I think the confusing part is because 5.3 Codex is already available in other IDE in our Github Copilot account. We thought it will also be available in Opencode using the same Github Copilot account.

Do we need to update Opencode or re-authenticate to our Github Copilot account to see 5.3 Codex when it is available in Opencode?

this doesnt help because im sure most people see it already, the issue is that people dont see it only in opencode as widely reported.

apparently theres just general issues with using it on other harnesses but works fine on copilot cli / vscode. So seems its removed until stable which i hope by tomorrow it can be readded? (source: #857 (comment))

i think the core of the issue is that the model list in opencode for copilot is static (hardcoded in model.dev) and same for every user

while in reality some models are available to a subset of users (like codex 5.3 during rollout or opus 4.6 fast to pro+ and enterprise)

this leads to a situation where we can choose our poison: either some users see models that don’t work or don’t see models that do work

i think the proper fix is to have models in models.dev as soon as they appear in the api but filter out not-enabled models on the opencode side in the auth integration
