Does iOS install tracking require ATT permission to be recorded?

After updating to react-native-adjust 5.5.0, I am verifying my iOS integration again and would like some clarification regarding ATT and install tracking.

Currently, my application:

• Does NOT include NSUserTrackingUsageDescription in Info.plist
• Does NOT request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission in React Native
• Does NOT show the ATT popup when launching the app

I would like to clarify the following:

• Does react-native-adjust automatically request ATT at any point? Or is ATT completely handled by the developer?

When testing with Adjust Testing Console to verify installs using IDFA:

• The device does NOT appear if I do not implement ATT.

The device only appears after I:

• Add NSUserTrackingUsageDescription to Info.plist
• Request ATT permission in React Native
• Grant the permission on the device
  After doing this, the device information (including IDFA) appears correctly in the Testing Console.

So my main question is:
Is ATT required for install tracking on iOS when using react-native-adjust, if I am only using it for install tracking? ( As i'm understanding, for my testing purpose, to show device info on Testing Console, I have to request ATT )

No, react-native-adjust doesn't automatically request ATT at any point. Here is the developer documentation for enabling ATT functionality on app side

When testing with Adjust Testing Console to verify installs using IDFA:

The device does NOT appear if I do not implement ATT.

To search the device’s ID with IDFA, you must prompt the user for their consent. This requires integrating Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework into your app. The Adjust SDK records the user’s authorization status and transmits it to Adjust’s servers with each request.

You may also search for the device using the IDFV and ADID values if you choose not to enable ATT for your app.

I would like to confirm one more point regarding searching devices in the Testing Console. In my current testing:

• The device has already granted ATT permission, so IDFA is available.
• When I search using IDFA, I am able to find the device information in the Testing Console successfully.
• However, when I search using IDFV, the console returns "Advertising ID not found."

Based on your explanation that devices can also be searched using IDFV or ADID when ATT is not enabled, I would like to clarify:

1. Is IDFV actually supported for searching devices in the Adjust Testing Console, or does the console only support IDFA / ADID for device lookup?
2. If IDFV is not supported in the Testing Console, is there any recommended way to verify that IDFV-based tracking is working correctly when ATT is not implemented?
3. I only use Adjust for tracking install recording from AppStore. Without ATT, does react-native-adjust increase install recording when User install my application?

Yes, the testing console supports retrieving device data using IDFV. Please validate the IDFV once on your side. If it still doesn't work, I recommend contacting the support@adjust.com with your IDFV, and they'll help you debug this further.
