Auto-Editor results flickering - HELP

Hi community, I just tried this app and found that some of the videos were flickering. It always happened after 1 or 2 minutes periodically one after another. may be my command line is wrong. Can someone please help me?

auto-editor IMG_0970.MOV --edit audio:threshold=-50dB --margin 0.3sec --export clip-sequence

Same here, I also get flickering. I've used the software before with good results, and I think I've had the issue before but have forgotten how to solve it. I'll get back here if I find out how. Also, I'm getting segments with lost audio.

Edit: I remember now that to solve some problem, I had to use VLC to convert the file (I'm doing from mkv to mp4). I'm trying that now. I think that must have been the flickering problem. Reading through the discussions, I recognize the comments about varying frame rate of the videos. I think a varying frame rate may have produced this type of problem, and converting it will make the problem go away. I don't know the technical details though, it's just a process of guessing and trying.

Edit: that worked, the problems with sound and video flickering seem to be gone now after a quick inspection, there is a dramatic difference.

Edit from 2025 March 30th: when trying to use Shotcut to edit the output of VLC's video conversion, I ran into new problems which may have been related to the framerate, still (it was 2 days ago, I already forgot how I noticed). Instead I did the conversion using Shotcut, which is using ffmpeg. The output file can be edited with Shotcut without problems. So I guess the Shotcut/ffmpeg conversion is better than what I managed with VLC. Shotcut seems to have much more settings than I could find in VLC and that's including framerate.

According to some page, related to your problems coming from iPhone recording (my problem came from a video created using OBS Studio):
"Chances are if your video came from either a cell phone or a screen recording of some kind, it's variable frame rate. Most video editing tools expect constant frame rate, and thus don't cope will with variable frame rate."

Hi, thank you so much for helping me. It did work!

So I've realized that my original video was filmed by iPhone with 30fps setting. Somehow I decided to transcode it to 30fps first, because my kdenlive said that the video wasn't suitable for editing, so it suggested me to transcode. After that I got a new video file with "..._30fps.mp4" and with this new video the trimming using auto-editor went very smooth. The flickering is gone. What a time to be alive. Thanks for the tip. I think my iPhone somehow has an unstable frame rate during recording. Idk.
