Missing Faces

There seem to be a lot of cases where faces are missing. Is this to be expected or am i doing something wrong?
In the given example, it happens for "Free Draw" objects, subtractive composite and "simple" subtractive objects.

Please note, that the faces really are missing and do not have a flipped normal.
