T gate prints as "S" in timeline-text

When I run

tsim.Circuit("T 0").diagram("timeline-text")

I expect to see

q0: -T-

but instead I get

q0: -S-

on tsim 0.1.4.

Hi @egcarnio - thanks for reporting this. "timeline-text" is currently not supported by Tsim (it's not documented in the docstrings or docs).

The supported options are only

"pyzx",
"pyzx-dets",
"pyzx-meas",
"timeline-svg",
"timeslice-svg"

The reason is that Tsim does not bring its own rendering tools. Instead, we reuse stim's Python API and do some regex tricks to replace, e.g., S with T. For text-based circuit diagram, those tricks don't work and we decided to not support text-based diagrams for this reason.

In the future, we may implement some proper diagram rendering.

Would you prefer if we raised a ValueError on "timeline-text"?

Hi @rafaelha, thanks for the clarification! I think it makes sense to print at least a warning, since it's a deviation from the idea that everything works just the same under substitution "stim" -> "tsim". Cheers!
