Lend out Feature

At my previous employer and a club i am member we use part-db not only to keep track of consumables, but also of tools to keep track where they are.

One feature which would be awesome in our setup is a calendar to track whether a tool is preorderd fo lend out and for tracking to whom a tool is lend out to. We tried to use Projects for that task, but with projects the tools are "consumed" , so when the tools are brought back, its not so easy to just mark them as back to their usual place.

Is there interest in developing / including such feature or would it be considered out of scope, to develop such tool.

I never worked on a bigger project like this, but would be interested in developing such feature.

I currently use the Expiration date in storage lots to track the calibration date of measuring tools and for other tools we change the storage lot for a tool if it is moved from one user to another. A calendar for tool usage reservation would be really great. For example for our climatic chambers.
