Description
- Perhaps you should keep a ROADMAP file which indicates what features you intend to add or stay away from.
- Also a CHANGELOG file , so that users can know what is changing one version to another as a cumulative record.
- A roadmap files lets potential users know you intend to develop in a certain direction, and it may obviate the need for users and potential users alike from filing a whole bunch of RFE issues.
- In that roadmap file include maybe the following goals, or state as an explicit non-goal
- Some usual desired features in a note-taking tool
- Backlinks: automatically causes bank-link collection on automatically made hashtag
- Search bar that searches on keywords and hashtags, with advanced search specifiers
- indented style wheerin each indent is a subblock
- block level granularity of links
- hashtag based, link based note system, hierarchy optional (imho hierarchy not useful)
- katex math notation, mermaid diagrams, embedded images/svg, etc
- tables
- structured properties
- query-language/querying: say datalog, that can query on structured properties
- user-scripting: say sci (small clojure interpreter)
- plugin system
- ical calendar synchronization
- integration with citation tool like zotero
- ability to make a manifest file for pdf export, or revealjs presentation export
- I mostly have logseq in mind when I list the above.
- ps. if you make youtube tutorial videos on how you use AI to make thinknote, perhaps it may empower many to make custom note-taking tools to their own taste. Every note-taker will have their own idea of what their note-taking tool should do, that available note taking tools don't fulfill. ... or they perhaps join you and assist.
