I've noticed the SystemTrayMenu (STM) sometimes doesn't appear after I launch it.
In investigating this, I remembered Windows 10/11 includes a Reliability Monitor, accessible via:
Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> Security and Maintenance -> Maintenance -> View Reliability History
(or you can simply type "Reliability Monitor" in the Start menu)
It confirms that STM is having some issues.
Here is an example of what Reliability Monitor shows for dates on which STM abended:
Faulting application name: SystemTrayMenu.exe, version: 1.3.5.0, time stamp: 0x64b07659
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.26100.8328, time stamp: 0x0022b8e0
Exception code: 0xc0000374
Fault offset: 0x0000000000117175
Hopefully this info can help with awareness and a fix.
