• @k-a-webb is asking about installing previous ESMValTool versions, got several ideas about conda-lock files, docker containers, aptainers etc
• 10 years ESMValTool soon (18.12.) - can anyone set up a presentation "10 years of ESMValTool"? - Mattia as special guest? Nils, Klaus, Björn, Javi? possibly put next monthly meeting on that date
• @k-a-webb asking about a functionality to skip INDIVIDUAL datasets as an alternate to the skip_nonexistent option. "Some datasets happy to skip, some necessary and want to fail if they don't exist". @bouweandela says nothing like that exists yet, linked to Handling CMORCheckErrors ESMValTool#4106 (reply in thread)
• @k-a-webb is there a way to keep areacella after preprocessor to use in diagnostics? @bouweandela says there's a special preprocessor function that removes the fx_variables, set that to false: add a preprocessor function remove_supplementary_variables: false
• talking about computational efficiency, all diag blocks are handled separately so several smaller recipes are also fine. Some preprocessors create large task graphs. @bouweandela linked to Computational performance of iris.cube.Cube.aggregated_by with lazy data SciTools/iris#5455
• several people are working on ESMValTool wrappers. Talked about how the wrappers work. Some are grouping recipes for evaluation, MetOffice is putting together with a cmorizer before using ESMValTool
• talked about CMIP7 cmor tables, some variables renamed, see Add CMIP7 support ESMValCore#2874, https://github.com/WCRP-CMIP/CMIP7-CVs -> Maybe a topic for the workshop next year spring? Might be too late since it's after the CMIP Workshop

For inspiration, here is how I implemented the feature for the REF: Climate-REF/climate-ref#447
