Internet Connections to China – what purpose?

Can someone from the team explain to me why these connections are made? I downloaded from Github, and the connections don't seem to to be related to Github. They're also not related to API calls for interference. I'm sensitive to the application sending user data to other countries and servers unknown to me. Thanks for your response.

Thanks for clarifying. I wonder how to make sure that user data doesn't get sent anywhere else? In theory this seems like a big vulnerability. Also would be nice if updates were pulled from Github, have more trust in this platform.

You can choose to turn off the update detection, so there will be no other request data going out.
