I know that Ambxst already checks for updates to itself, but it would be a nice addition if it also checks for updates for all packages whether yay, flatpak, or pacman.

The issue is that Ambxst works in Arch, but also Arch-based, Fedora-based, and NixOS. It will be a mess to handle both base and derivative distros.

But 1.2.0 will be the plugin update, so making an Arch-specific plugin for this would be viable. It will just take time.
